The Town of Byron has received an application to expand gravel quarry operations and begin limestone extraction to a depth of 25ft depth and eventually to 50ft.

The location is County Road Y and Interstate 41.

A Special User Permit meeting has already taken place.
A hydrogeologic study is underway.

We need to act quickly and decisively to protect our land values and quality of life.

The proposed site is directly adjacent to an unlined landfill.

The Wisconsin Geological and Natural History Survey has indicated this area as having HIGH suseptibility to groundwater contamination.

The operators of the adjacent gas pipeline have not been consulted.
